My obsession for tech, words and multimedia is underpinned by my BSc Web & Multimedia with Creative Writing. My love for design, image and aesthetics is underpinned by my MA Graphic Design.
I’ve been inadvertently immersed in digital since 1996. I design for web, design for print and I develop communication strategies across multiple channels (digital/offline). In 1999, I was teaching local communities how to use the internet at Cardinal Newman College. In 2001, I was an online journalist, producing digital written content and fostering a social network in the shape of Bigwideworld.
I got Preston involved with the first global Social Media Day in 2010 and I co-founded the Preston Social a year later, which sought to bring the digital community together once a month to investigate how social networking developments affected our local community.
Little wonder then, that my MA dissertation focussed on hyperconnectivity and its impact on us as designers and people.
It makes sense then that I also lecture in Online Reputation Management, Digital Marketing and other social network related agendas at a number of colleges and universities in the region. In my role at, 3ManFactory, I also work with schools, educating students about the importance and impact of their digital footprint, with emphasis on web safety.
I was part of the board that launched the Digital Inclusion Charter for Lancashire Country Council and currently sit on the board of Digital Lancashire, which provides support to individuals and organisations working in or aspiring to work in the digital sector in Lancashire.
