R-Ladies Lancaster – Tidy Data

A local chapter of R-Ladies Global, R-Ladies Lancaster exists to promote gender diversity in the R community worldwide. All events are intended for all women who are interested in attending. We are emphatically queer and trans-friendly. Men are welcome to attend as long as they are respectful that this a woman run space.

We’re going to start with a small tutorial on tidying data. This will involve learning about the functions: (spread(), gather(), separate(), unite(), inner_join()).

Afterwards, we will try these out on our own data. So please, if you can, bring along some of your own data. You could be working on this data at the moment, or it could be something you have used in the past. If you don’t have any data, this would be a good learning opportunity to try and find some open source data from the internet.

We are in Lancaster University Library – Room C135.
