Join Jackie Bennett Shaw (Owner of Marzipan PR) and Dan Knowles (Fraser House) for an hour long conversation discussing race and diversity on Thursday 18th June. Throughout her life Jackie has witnessed racial discrimination both personally and towards friends and families.
With Black Lives Matter at the forefront of so many people’s minds, this online ZOOM conversation, supported by Digital Lancashire, will see both Jackie and Dan encourage others to join them at this discussion and create a safe space to ask and explore these challenging questions.
Jackie is Lancastrian and mixed race (her mum is West Indian) and we’ll be talking about Jackie’s own experiences regarding race, from school and also in later life, including during her professional career.

Jackie has 20 years’ experience in PR, communications and content marketing.
She learned her trade in the press department of an international development charity before moving into PR, corporate sponsorship and large-scale event management for a London agency. Jackie has also worked as PR and Communications Manager for Girlguiding UK, for leading North West community dance development charity Ludus Dance, and for global facilities management company OCS. Most recently she spent four years working, first in consultancy and then in a senior role, in a niche B2B communications agency.
