Being properly prepared for raising funds will be even more important and competitive as we emerge from the covid-19 crisis.

  • Need finance for growth?
  • Want to understand what venture capital is and how to successfully apply?
  • Perhaps unsure whether venture capital or business angel finance is right for you?

Delivered by experienced investors, the programme is designed to “demystify” the world of equity finance and prepare ambitious businesses with growth potential to apply for much needed investment.

This initial half-day workshop will give you multiple insights into the equity investment process and whether it is right for you.

Topics covered include:

  • Types, sources and routes to funding
  • What investors look for
  • Finding the right investor
  • Value of intellectual property
  • The investment process
  • Investment pitching

Who should attend?

Anyone actively seeking equity investment for their business or wanting to gain an insight into the investment process in preparation for future needs.

The event and programme are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and so is only eligible to Lancashire based SME’s seeking investment into their business.

Next steps

To complete the Investment Readiness programme, you will be invited to a further one-day workshop. Once you have submitted a business plan and pitchdeck you will be invited to attend a “practice pitching” event. Where appropriate, the team will then look to facilitate introductions to their investor network. One to one assistance from experienced investors and supplementary specialist workshops are also available.
