News / PyData launches Lancaster chapter

PyData is a community for developers and users of open-source data tools and Lancaster is the latest chapter of what is an already large international PyData Community. They plan to meet monthly and have shared details of the first meeting with Digital Lancashire. This meeting will not be a typical PyData meeting but rather an introduction type meeting to:

  • Introduce what PyData is and why we are starting a chapter here
  • Share the vision and plan for the meetup
  • See what your expectations are for the meeting so that we can have a data science group which works for everyone!

Date: Wednesday 30th October

Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Location: The Herbarium, Lancaster, LA1 1NQ

To stay updated with all their events you can join their group on MeetUp.

They welcome everyone with an interest in all things data, from beginners to seasoned pros, whether you work in linguistics, journalism, eCommerce, physics, or anything in between. We’re big fans of open source. Python and R are data science staples, but other languages and perspectives are are more than welcome!
